Jan. 15: Speaker proposals due.
Feb. 1: JEA Outreach Academy application deadline.
Feb. 7 : Convention registration begins.
Feb. 14: Hotel reservations open.
Feb. 17: Scholarship applications due.
Feb. 20: JEA National Student Media Contests registration opens and prompts available.
Feb. 28: Early-bird discounts end for convention registration.
March 27: NSMC online submission deadline and registration closed at 6 p.m. CT.
April 3: Deadline: NSPA Best of Show Individual Award entries submitted only by 5 p.m. CT.
April 4: Hotel block closes at 6 p.m. PT.
April 7: Last day to register online.
April 21: Deadline: NSPA Best of Show Staff Award entries entered on site by 1 p.m. PT.

Online registration opens at noon CT Feb. 7.
Registration rates
JEA or NSPA members early bird (on or before Feb. 28): $125
JEA or NSPA members standard rate (after Feb. 28): $145
Nonmembers early bird (on or before Feb. 28): $175
Nonmembers standard rate (after Feb. 28): $195
Hotel information & rates
To take full advantage of the convention, delegates are encouraged to stay at the San Francisco Hilton Union Square, the sanctioned and officially designated JEA/NSPA convention hotel.
Please realize that although an April 4 deadline for reservations has been set, neither the hotel nor convention officials can guarantee availability.

Costs of attending
In addition to the registration fees and hotel costs, attendees planning for the convention will have other costs to consider, depending on your location and what type of experience you are planning for, you might plan for the following costs:

JEA National Student Media Contest entry fees ($20 per student)
Break With a Pro attendees ($5 per student)
NSPA Best of Show entry fees ($30-$45 per entry)
NSPA on-site critique ($30 per critique)
Adobe certification testing ($70 or $110 per attendee)
Convention apparel (vary by convention and configuration, but generally about $20)
Pre-convention workshop fees ($25 or $40 per attendee)
Media excursions ($25 to 40 per student)
Adviser recognition luncheon ticket ($50 per adviser)
Getting to and around San Francisco
Airfare (the national average is about $400)
Meal per diem (averages about $79 per day)
Ground transportation (roundtrip shared shuttle service is about $35 per person)
Entertainment, including public transportation
Souvenirs
Gratuities for drivers/housekeeping
